Profile

Totally blind since birth, I am a human rights advocate with six years' experience in disability rights, grassroots mobilisation and inclusive policy development in Uganda. Since 2017 I have also been Research Policy Officer at Uganda Speaks in Kampala, doing qualitative human rights research and policy work. I am the founder and Director of the Blind Children's Education Support Campaign, which works to ensure every blind child in Uganda can use a phone and a computer with screen-reading software. I am currently pursuing an M.A. in Human Rights and Democracy at University College Stockholm, with thesis research on the Gacaca community courts and reconciliation in Rwanda, and I informally advise refugees in Sweden on navigating the social system and accessing assistance, particularly supporting non-literate individuals who lack trustworthy information.
